Alex Ferguson Awarded Doctoral Degree

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson received his honorary doctorate from the University of Manchester. This title is given as a reward 25 years of his career with the Red Devils.

This title is given directly by the Deputy President of the University, Professor Rod Coombs. In his speech, Ferguson-Fergie-greeting flattered that his struggle had been appreciated.

"This award is a witness all the hard work that happens at Manchester United for 25 years.'s Not just me who work hard, but everyone involved in the club," said Fergie, who first took over Manchester United in 1986, quoted by Sky Sports, Wednesday, October 12, 2011.

This is the second time within four months of Fergie got his doctorate. Previously, the man from Scotland was given that title by the University of Stirling once considered doing 'outstanding contribution' in the field of sports.

In a span of 25 years of his career, says Fergie again, there are some changes taking place in the world of coaching football. If the first train he usually went down the Red Devils forces, now there are adjustments that occur. "When the game finally changed, I also had to change."
